Marcell
I designed a test UI for the Marcell Store app, prioritizing user-friendly navigation, clean layouts, and an enhanced shopping experience.

The project is an ongoing endeavor at the time of portfolio creation, focused on developing an e-commerce mobile application for Marcell Store, a gadget store for which branding and social media graphics were previously designed.
Project Overview
This project involves the development of an e-commerce mobile app for a gadget store, a business I previously worked with on branding and social media graphics. The primary goal of this app is to provide a seamless digital shopping experience, allowing users to browse, order, and receive gadget deliveries from the comfort of their homes.
Research & Planning
The project began with extensive research to understand the target audience, their shopping behaviors, and market trends in mobile commerce. A competitive analysis was conducted to identify key strengths and gaps in existing e-commerce solutions. This phase also involved defining essential features that would improve user engagement and satisfaction.
UI/UX Design
The design process began with wireframing and prototyping, where low-fidelity wireframes were created to outline the app's structure and user flow. These were then developed into interactive prototypes, which were used for user testing to gather valuable feedback on the app's usability and overall design. Based on this feedback, iterative improvements were made to refine the user experience. Following this, the visual design and branding phase focused on creating a visually appealing and user-friendly interface. This involved incorporating Marcell Store's existing branding elements, such as their logo, colors, and typography, to ensure a consistent brand experience across all platforms. Finally, to ensure the development team could implement the design accurately and consistently, detailed design specifications and a comprehensive style guide were prepared
Next Phase
The UI/UX design for the Marcell Store e-commerce app is currently underway. The design aims to provide a user-friendly and intuitive experience for browsing and purchasing gadgets. Early design explorations focus on clear navigation, visually appealing product presentation, and a streamlined checkout process. Considerations for the Nigerian market, such as location-specific delivery options and payment methods, are being incorporated. The design is still in progress, and further iterations are planned based on user feedback and testing.
Challenges & Solutions
One of the major challenges during development was ensuring that the app provided a consistent and smooth user experience across different devices. Since users would access the platform from a variety of screen sizes, including smartphones and tablets, it was crucial to create a responsive design that adapted seamlessly. To address this, extensive testing would be conducted on multiple devices to identify and resolve any UI inconsistencies or performance issues. Iterative design improvements and optimizations would be made based on user feedback to ensure that the app remained intuitive, visually appealing, and highly functional regardless of the device being used.
Conclusion
The Marcell Store e-commerce app is being developed to provide a seamless and user-friendly shopping experience for gadget buyers. The design process, guided by research and user feedback, focuses on intuitive navigation, streamlined checkout, and location-specific payment and delivery options for the Nigerian market. Branding elements have been integrated for consistency, while extensive testing ensures a responsive experience across devices. As the UI/UX design phase continues, iterative improvements will enhance usability, positioning Marcell Store as a leading digital marketplace for gadget shoppers in Lagos and beyond.
