AutoFest 2024 is an automotive event showcasing drag races, drifts, car parades, and exhibitions of supercars, classic cars, and bikes.

Research and Discovery

The first step of the process involved conducting a detailed study of BMW Club Nigeria’s brand identity, event history, and target audience. The goal was to maintain their premium and dynamic aesthetic while integrating modern automotive culture into the design. To achieve this, a competitor analysis was carried out, reviewing similar automotive events worldwide. This helped identify design trends and provided insights to ensure AutoFest 2024 stood out with a unique identity. Additionally, an audience persona was developed, focusing on the preferences of car enthusiasts who are drawn to bold, exciting visuals that communicate energy and sophistication.

Concept Development

For the concept development phase, the chosen theme was futuristic and dynamic, reflecting the thrill and innovation associated with automotive events. Key themes such as speed, power, and community were emphasized to resonate with the audience. A mood board was created, pulling inspiration from motorsport designs, car rally posters, and BMW’s iconic branding elements. This ensured alignment with the brand’s heritage while introducing fresh, modern ideas.

Logo Design

The objective of the logo design was to encapsulate the excitement of AutoFest while being versatile enough for use across digital and print platforms. The design process explored typography inspired by motorsports, incorporating metallic finishes to create a bold, modern look. 3D elements were added to give the logo depth and energy, enhancing its dynamic appeal. Scalability was a key consideration, ensuring the logo would be effective across various applications, including merchandise, banners, and digital platforms.

Visual Elements

The visual elements were crafted to convey energy and sophistication. Typography played a significant role, with sharp, bold fonts used for the logo and headlines, complemented by clean, modern sans-serif fonts for supporting text. The color palette featured metallic silver and black to evoke a premium feel, alongside vibrant reds and blues to reflect speed and excitement, tying into BMW’s signature motorsport colors. Imagery centered on a BMW race car in motion, immediately capturing the event’s energy and appealing to car enthusiasts. Additional design elements included smoke trails and motion lines to convey speed and dynamism, along with subtle gradients and lighting effects for a polished, high-energy finish.

Deliverables

The deliverables included a variety of materials to ensure a cohesive promotional campaign. The flyer design featured an engaging layout that clearly communicated key event details such as the date, venue, and activities, all while maintaining a visually dynamic aesthetic. Social media templates were created for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, ensuring consistent branding across digital channels. Print materials, including banners, posters, and handouts, were also designed to be visually striking and aligned with the event’s premium feel.

Conclusion

Collaboration with BMW Club Nigeria was a critical part of the process. Feedback was gathered at each stage of development to refine the designs. Suggestions from the client were incorporated to enhance the logo and flyer design, ensuring they met the event’s goals and created maximum impact.

The final materials were delivered in all necessary formats for digital and print use. Guidelines for using the branding elements were also provided to ensure consistency throughout the event’s promotional campaign. The cohesive design approach successfully captured the excitement and prestige of AutoFest 2024, reinforcing BMW Club Nigeria’s reputation as a leader in the automotive community.
